Online casinos and the rules in BC
Elements Casino Victoria in View Royal is a land-based casino, and this guide describes it from the outside. Online play in British Columbia has its own rules, and this page sets them out.

PlayNow.com and the provincial rule
Gambling in British Columbia is legal only when the provincial government runs it. For online play, that means one site: PlayNow.com, which BCLC operates. It is the only legal online gambling site in the province. Since April 13, 2026, the Independent Gambling Control Office, or IGCO, has regulated gambling in BC.
The legal age is 19, and the rule covers casinos and online gambling alike. Anyone under 19 may not enter a gambling venue or take part in any gambling, on a screen or on a casino floor. That rule includes PlayNow.com. In Greater Victoria, the same age applies at the door of Elements Casino Victoria in View Royal.
Private sites outside BC rules
The IGCO says other online gambling sites that accept BC players operate illegally in the province. BC's own safeguards stop at their edge. Game Break, the voluntary self-exclusion program for BC casinos, also covers PlayNow.com for the same term, but it does not reach private sites. PlayNow limits do not apply there either. Complaints about a private site cannot go to the IGCO.
Help does not depend on where the gambling happened. Gambling Support BC, a provincial program, answers 1-888-795-6111 around the clock, toll-free, for any BC resident. That includes people affected by a loved one's gambling. Counselling is free, and the website is gamblingsupportbc.ca.
How this guide is paid
Paid links appear only on this guide's home page, and each one is marked Ad. There are three: one in the menu, one in a block just below the first screen and one near the end of the page. All three lead to the same private online casino partner. That partner is not run or regulated in British Columbia.
The guide earns a commission from that partner, and the partner can change. Elements Casino Victoria has no part in these links. This site is not the casino's own site, takes no bets and has no accounts. The casino's own pages are at casinovictoria.ca.
Questions at the desk
Is online gambling legal in British Columbia?
Only on PlayNow.com, which BCLC runs. Gambling in BC is legal only when the provincial government runs it, and the IGCO says other sites accepting BC players operate illegally.
Does Elements Casino Victoria run an online casino?
This guide has no information about one. The casino's own website is casinovictoria.ca, and elementscasinovictoria.com redirects there.
Can Game Break shut out a private online casino?
No, it does not. Game Break and PlayNow limits do not reach private online sites, and complaints about those sites cannot go to the IGCO.
Why are there Ad links on the home page?
The home page carries three paid links, each marked Ad, to one private online casino partner. The guide earns a commission from it, and the partner can change. No other page on the site carries them.
